Won't for No and Not

Use won't for negative future meaning. It can show a refusal or a prediction that something will not happen. The verb after won't stays in the base form.

  • Example: I won't buy it.
  • Example: It won't rain tomorrow.

Quick Rule

  • won't = will not
  • after won't, use the base verb

Short form, clear message: not in the future.
