Which or That? Use Them for Things (Relative Clauses: Which/That)

Use which or that to talk about things.

They connect the noun to extra information.

In these simple sentences, both forms often work well.

  • Example: This is the book that I bought.
  • Example: I like the song which you sent.

Quick Rule

  • use which or that for things
  • they help join two ideas into one sentence

For things, English is quite friendly here: which and that both help.
