Grammar notes

Where Is for Places (Relative Clauses: Where)

Use where when the noun is a place.

It adds extra information about that place in a natural way.

This is useful when you want one sentence instead of two.

  • Example: This is the park where we play.
  • Example: That is the town where my grandma lives.

Quick Rule

  • use where for places
  • put it after the place noun

If the sentence is about a place, where usually knows the way.
