More + Adjective (Comparatives: Long Adjectives)

Long adjectives usually do not take -er.

Instead, use more before the adjective.

This keeps the sentence smooth and easy to read.

  • Example: This book is more interesting than that one.
  • Example: A plane is more expensive than a train.

Quick Rule

  • more + long adjective
  • do not add -er to long adjectives

When the adjective gets longer, let more do the heavy lifting.
