Did Not Changes the Verb (Past Simple: Negatives)
Use did not or didn't to make the past simple negative.
After didn't, the main verb goes back to its base form.
That is the key trick: the past meaning is already inside didn't.
- Example: I didn't watch TV.
- Example: She didn't go to school.
Quick Rule
- didn't + base verb
- do not use the past form after didn't
If didn't is in the sentence, let the main verb stay simple.
