our / their / its

🏠 Our, Their, Its (More Possessive Labels)

These words also show possession, but for different owners. Use our for my group, their for another group, and its for one thing or animal. They stand before a noun and answer the question, “Whose is this?”

• Example: Our house is big.
• Example: Its tail is long.

Quick Rule

• our = belongs to us
• their = belongs to them
• its = belongs to it

Put the right owner in front, and the noun has a home.
