Make + Object + Adjective

Use make plus an object and an adjective to show an effect. The object tells us who or what feels the effect. The adjective tells us the result.

  • Example: This smell makes me hungry.
  • Example: The news made her happy.

Quick Rule

  • make + object + adjective
  • the adjective shows the effect, not a separate action

This pattern is all about the result something creates.
