Phrasal Verbs That Stay Together

Inseparable phrasal verbs keep the verb and particle together. The object comes after the whole expression. You cannot move the object into the middle.

  • Example: I'm looking for my keys.
  • Example: She looks after her brother.

Quick Rule

  • verb + particle stay together
  • put the object after the whole phrasal verb

If you split this type, the sentence stops sounding natural.
