You Can Relax (Don't Have To)
Use don't have to when something is not necessary.
It does not mean the same as mustn't.
The action is allowed. It is just optional.
- Example: You don't have to come early.
- Example: She doesn't have to cook tonight.
Quick Rule
- don't / doesn't have to = not necessary
- mustn't = not allowed
This pattern gives you room to breathe. Nice, right?
