Sometimes and Never (Adverbs of Frequency: Low)

Sometimes means not every time. Never means zero times.

These words also help you describe habits and routines.

Be careful with never: the verb stays positive because never already makes the idea negative.

• Example: We sometimes watch TV after dinner.
• Example: He never eats fish.

Quick Rule

• sometimes = from time to time
• never + positive verb form

When never arrives, the extra negative can stay at home.
