under / next to / behind

🧭 Where Is It? (under / next to / behind)

These prepositions show the position of one thing compared with another thing. Use under for lower, next to for side by side, and behind for at the back. They help the sentence draw a little picture in your mind.

• Example: The cat is under the table.
• Example: The dog is behind the box.

Quick Rule

• under = lower
• next to = by the side
• behind = at the back
