Grammar notes

🙈 Present Simple Negatives

To make the present simple negative, use do not or does not. We usually say don't with I / you / we / they and doesn't with he / she / it. After don't / doesn't, the main verb goes back to the base form.

  • Example: I don't know the answer.
  • Example: She doesn't like coffee.

Quick Rule

  • don't + base verb
  • doesn't + base verb

Negative sentences are easy when don't and doesn't lead the way.
