🎩 Choose Your Article (a / an / the)

Articles are tiny helpers at the front of nouns. Use a / an for one thing that is new or not special. Use the for the thing we already know. The trick is simple: ask, “Is it one new thing or one known thing?”

  • Example: I have an apple.
  • Example: Where is the kitchen?

Quick Rule

  • a / an = one new thing
  • the = one known thing
